Grand Master Tuumumao “Tino” Tuiolosega of the Royal Family of Sumo founded LIMALAMA. Mr. Tuiolosega has spent over 6 decades of his life dedicated to the Martial Arts, and much of that was towards the development of his American Polynesian art of Limalama.
Mr. Tino achieved Master Ranks in the five animal styles of Sil-Lum Kung fu. He was the Chief instructor of Self-defense while serving in the Marine Corp. Mr. Tino was the Middle Weight Champion full contact Martial Artist during the 1950s and 1960s.
LIMALAMA combines the thirteen Polynesian arts with its extensive knowledge of different martial arts like Kung fu and Chinese boxing, kempo and others. Numerous modifications and certain techniques and methods of the art were examined to verify their effectiveness and realistic approach towards real situations under different conditions. This methodology formalized fighting movements in a complete system.
Students learn cause and effect of each movement of Limalama by means of application.
